• Headed to A’s spring training in Phoenix, Brad Peacock (’10-’11) had to turn his vehicle around in Biloxi, Mississippi when he learned he was traded to the Houston Astros in part of a five-player deal. You can be sure that his dad Jerry will be gassing up the lawnmower trailer for the upcoming season.

• According to Christian Garcia (’12), the Nationals still haven’t informed him what role they want him to fill this season. I’m not sure I know why Washington wants to mess with his success, but the Gio Gonzalez situation might force their hand.

• MLB released their Top 20 Prospects for the Nationals and many former and current Senators made the list:

#1 – Anthony Rendon (’12)

#14 – Zach Walters (’12)

• Now is your chance to have a special river monster deliver a Valentine’s Day gift to your special someone. Rascal will deliver a dozen roses to your sweetheart along with two dugout box seats and an in-game video board message as part of the Senators’ Valentine’s Day package for $80. Limited quantities are being sold so act fast.

Old Faces, New Places

Henry Mateo (’00 & ’05) was signed by Saraperos de Saltillo of the Mexican League

• The Seattle Mariners inked Jhonny Nunez (’08) and extended a non-roster Major League spring training invite to him
