Don’t Ask Me What a Pirate and Viking Have to do with a Flying Squirrel

If Nutzy, Zinger, and Parker the Rally Pig weren’t enough, the Richmond Flying Squirrels are introducing two new mascots for the upcoming season. One is a swashbuckling pirate that hails from the high seas and the other is a fearless viking whose days exploring the North Sea are over. The team is looking for their fans to chime in and name the two new characters.

Baysox Promo Schedule

The Bowie Baysox released their promotional schedule and some of the highlights are the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Night with an appearance by Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), a Manny Machado garden gnome giveaway, and five different themed beer dinners that include an AYCE buffet and open bar.

Bling Bling

Prior to last Thursday’s spring training game at the Cleveland Indians’ facility in Goodyear, Arizona, the players and coaches from the 2012 Akron Aeros received their EL Championship rings.

Just a Bit Outside

For the eighth straight season, Service Electric will televise games for the Reading Baseball Club. Long-time broadcaster Steve Degler and Tim Neiman will man the booth for 24 games in high-def coverage.
