• Rule 5 pickups Jeff Kobernus (’12) and Danny Rosenbaum (’11-’12) were both returned to the Nationals when they failed to make the big league rosters of the Tigers and Rockies respectively.

• The mantle of oldest active former Senator may have to be passed down from Miguel Batista (’93-’94) since he was released by the Rockies.

• Shawn at Thoughts of R.S. catches up with Sean Nicol (’11-’12) for a four-part interview where he discusses his time in Hagerstown, playing with Bryce Harper, and New Britain’s awful infield. (H/T Nationals Prospects)

• A trio of former Senators, Justin Maxwell (’08), Brad Peacock (’10-’11), and Rick Ankiel (’11-’12) made the Houston Astros opening day roster for new manager Bo Porter.

• The Nationals released twelve players including former third round pick Stephen King (’11-’12).

Old Faces, New Places

• Returning to the New York Yankees organization was “an easy decision” for Chien-Ming Wang (’11-’12) as the club signed the Taiwanese righthander to a minor-league deal

Adam Carr (’07’-10) was inked to a deal by the Bridgeport Bluefish

• Southpaw sidewinder Joe Testa (’12) was signed by the York Revolution to compete for a job in the bullpen

Eddie Rogers (’08) has manned left field for the Pirates de Campeche of the Mexican League for the team’s first two games
