Eastern LeagueAndrew Lambo recorded the first cycle in Altoona Curve team history last Tuesday night against the Akron Aeros at Canal Park. Lambo homered in the fifth inning to complete the natural cycle in his first four at-bats of the game. The feat was the Eastern League’s first since Manny Machado hit for one last August 4th. “It was a great individual night, but also a great team night,” said Lambo. “I definitely won’t forget it. I’ve never done that, period, so it’s definitely a big accomplishment.”

Eastern LeagueThe Reading Baseball Club introduced a pair of live ostriches to the FirstEnergy Stadium experience and have now named them Ruth and Judy, honoring two most prominent females in the history of the Reading franchise and Berks County agriculture. Ruth is named after Ruth Hartman, the Queen of Baseballtown, who played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and was the longtime softball coach at Reading High School. Judy is named after Senator Judy Schwank who served two terms as county commissioner and was the Dean of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Delaware Valley.
