Senators 2, Flying Squirrels 1
* In a spot start, Ryan Tatusko worked seven solid innings holding Richmond to one unearned run on four hits and four walks. “To me, they have one of the best hitting clubs that we’ve faced so far,” manager Matt LeCroy said, “For him to come in and do what he did, pitching out of a little trouble, but that was a pretty solid effort.” After the game, Tatusko was in a hurry to pack his belongings and head back to Syracuse before the impending weather hit.
* The win moved the Senators to within one game of first-place Richmond in the Western Division.
* Steven Souza poked his sixth home run of the season in the first inning to give the Senators an early 1-0 lead. They would add a run in the second on a throwing error by Richmond pitcher Carlos Teller to complete their scoring.
* Aaron Barrett worked the ninth to pick up his 10th save of the season.
* Don’t forget that the cowboy monkeys ride into town tomorrow for the last game of this three-game set.
