Sens Outpaced 12-6 by Bowie on Opening Night

Check out my game report and notebook from last night’s game here and here.

Here are some other notes and personal observations not suited for PennLive…

• Don’t overreact to Blake Schwartz’s performance. I know it’s an ugly line (3.1 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 0 K) but Bowie has a lot of experienced, older batters that were able to make Schwartz pay for his frequent mistakes up in the zone.

• A few points about the Baysox veteran lineup:
⌂ Does Buck Britton owns a house in Bowie? I’m pretty sure he’s been on their roster since 2004
⌂ Niuman Romero has now played for five of the 12 Eastern League teams (which leads me to wonder what the record is)
⌂ Chih-Hsien Chiang was the runner-up for Eastern League MVP in 2011…three years later, he’s back and hitting third for Bowie

• Can Bowie do something about the lights…like buy a few more? Players from both teams were fighting fly balls and pop ups all night as they traced their way through the darkness.
