Helping you root for a team this postseason

Now that the MLB playoffs are about to begin, you may need a reason to root for a team to go all the way.

We looked at all 10 teams to find direct links to the Harrisburg Senators. Surprisingly, only three former players will likely find themselves on their team’s playoff roster for the first round. However, a lot more have ties with former players and coaches who are now on the field staffs and front offices of the playoff-bound teams.

There are four teams with no links whatsoever with the players, coaches, and front office staff: Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals.

After that…

Los Angeles Dodgers:
Pat Corrales (managed a couple of games while Matt LeCroy was gone on paternity leave) – special assistant to GM

Houston Astros:
Oliver Perez (2011)
Brad Peacock (2010-11) – on the 60-day disabled list

Kansas City Royals:
Chris Young (2003)
Rafael Belliard (1987) – special assistant to GM

Texas Rangers:
Jeff Banister (1988-90) – manager
Tony Beasley (Mgr 2011) – 3rd base coach
Ivan Rodriguez (2011) – special assistant to GM
